Wooden Balusters and Stair Posts
Wooden balusters and posts are among the most important elements of a wooden staircase railing. The railing gives the staircase its overall character while also providing protection against falls. Balusters can be installed directly on the steps, in solid stringers (full stringers where the step is recessed into the stringer), or on a bottom rail mounted between the posts just above the steps (commonly referred to as a support rail).
At the top of the balusters, and between the wooden posts, a handrail is installed. Stair posts, in addition to their decorative function, play a key structural role in supporting the entire wooden railing. For this reason, special attention should be paid to secure and stable installation to ensure overall rigidity and safety.
Stair Posts – Dimensions and Construction
We manufacture stair posts in three standard cross-sections:
- approximately 6×6 cm,
- 8×8 cm,
- 10×10 cm.
The height of the posts is approximately 112–115 cm, depending on the design. The most commonly used sizes are 8×8 cm and 10×10 cm, mainly due to their visual proportions and increased stability of the entire railing.
Our posts are made from laminated wood, the same material used for staircase treads and risers, ensuring consistency and durability.
Handrails and Bottom Rails
Handrails and bottom rails for wooden railings are produced in various designs and dimensions. In our standard offer, handrails (also known as grips) are available in sizes of approximately 45 mm in height and 60 mm in width, or 60×60 mm.
All of our wooden products are prepared for finishing. Upon request, we can lacquer or stain the wooden railing in a selected color.
Custom Orders and Supplied Material
We also carry out orders based on the client’s own designs and dimensions. Additionally, we manufacture railing components using wood supplied by the customer.
